The Five Practices

The Generative Citizen Five Practices offer a unique opportunity to develop and create personal generative practices for the ‘miraculous everyday’ – and to find out what happens when you do.

The way we are solving problems is the problem. We live in troubled times, and we need to take our capabilities to new levels to meet new challenges with creativity and humanity.

This is for individuals who want to apply these practices to their lives and their communities, as well as for people who want to apply them in their own work and businesses.

Self–management

Better manage your emotional state by following the COACH approach (Centred, Open, Attending, Connected, Holding) to manage difficulties for better mental health. Decrease negative reactions like CRASH (Contraction, Reactivity, Analysis paralysis, Separation, urt /hostility) for positive connections and coping with tough situations.

Self-development at identity level

Knowing who you are entails recognizing your values, understanding what you stand for in the world, and acknowledging your gift to society. It also involves delving into your emotional wounds, ancestral traits, and biases. This self-awareness forms the foundation for personal growth and pursuing endeavors like launching a business or elevating a hobby into something more meaningful.

Empathy

In our journey of personal growth, it is crucial to prioritize the development of empathy and compassion, not only towards ourselves but also towards others. By embracing the power of the arts, we can deepen our understanding of diverse perspectives and enhance our ability to connect meaningfully with those around us.

Communication skills

Developing communication skills involves exploring various linguistic approaches to effectively connect with others in their world. This includes not only influencing them but also reframing both your own attitudes and theirs to foster mutual understanding and meaningful interactions. By honing these skills, individuals can navigate diverse perspectives and build stronger relationships built on empathy and clear communication.

A Curated citizen's knowledge base

Better understand history, social issues, and climate change. Learning about history worldwide and in one's country offers insights into various community experiences. Knowing about social issues beyond personal experience encourages empathy and a broader view of societal problems. Understanding climate change facts is essential for making informed decisions and taking collective action for a sustainable future. A well-rounded knowledge base prepares citizens to contribute to building a more inclusive, fair, and eco-friendly society.
